My name is Keri and I've been doing this photography thing off and on my entire life. It started when I was about 6 and received my first ever camera, a gray and pink Polaroid 600 Cool Cam. I took one of my first pictures of my Grandfather that Christmas, and it still sits on my desk for inspiration.
I took photography during middle school years at summer camp. The dark room was on the top floor of an old house and it’s where I first learned the basics of photography and how to process and develop my own film. I loved it so much that I continued to take classes in high school and at Christmas my dad got me a Nikon n60. Years later I’d find out that my high school photography teacher, the legendary Mr. Chesbro also taught my mother in law art decades before.
By college graduation we shifted into the digital era, and my mom got me an Olympus Camedia FE-5500. I loved that little thing and took it with me everywhere. And throughout the next decade I’d own a few more cameras but continue to take pictures a little less. Until 2020 before the world shut down I realized I needed an actual hobby. I started to think about what I loved as a kid and remembered that dark room in summer camp. I did some research and purchased my first mirrorless Sony a6100 with a kit lens. It quickly became attached to my hip and I started to photograph everything I could.
Later that year I’d lose my stepmom, one of the most important people in my life after a mere 3 week battle with cancer. But with the help of my husband forcing me out of the house I was able to escape and find some peace through my lens. We started to explore local state parks, nature preserves and historic towns. We also went to new events and car shows, including my first rodeo and Formula Drift. It was one of the best things he could have done for me, and it propelled me into a whole new love and appreciate for this art.
Since then I’ve had the opportunity to photograph so many wonderful moments like my nieces college graduation from my Alma Mater, a good family friend’s wedding, and my friend’s book release party. I’ve also done media for a variety of drift events including LZ World Tour and Etown Gambler. And then there are times I get to capture a beautiful flower, sunset, or landscape, just because. I have some other projects in the works which I’m excited to share in the future.
I hope you enjoy my art as much as I do. Reach out if you are interested in any prints or if you’d like to book me for any photo shoots or services. I’m located in South NJ / Philly area and Upper Eastern Shore, MD.
